The team of experts at Sure to Grow® has evolved as our product line developed:
Product development - During product development we utilized the expertise of Dr. Leonard Kosinski, an expert in polymer chemistry who originally developed the unique fiber clusters for DuPont. Under Dr. Kosinski’s guidance we modified the composition of the fibers to provide the characteristics required to provide the optimal growing environment for the widest range of crops and growing systems.
Product testing - The product testing stage involved extensive input from hydroponic and horticulture experts. A key participant during the development phase was Mr. Gordon Creaser, a hydroponic consultant renowned world-wide for his expertise in hydroponic crop production.
During the product testing and development stages, STG products were tested extensively and we received invaluable input from hundreds of commercial growers, hobby growers, retailers and university horticultural experts including a joint project of Ohio State University with the USDA and testing at the University of Arizona.
Research - Dr. Lynnette Morgan, Scientific Director for SUNTEC Hydroponic Consultants in New Zealand has been commissioned to provide selected studies of STG products. Studies to date include growing trials comparing Microgreens and Wheatgrass production using STG Pads to other hydroponic supply media including perlite, vermiculite and soilless mix. In the spring of 2009, Dr. Morgan will conduct trials comparing STG Grow Cubes for hydroponic lettuce production to Oasis propagation cubes and Rockwool cubes. In addition to the work of outside researchers, the STG technical staff are continually adding to the body of knowledge regarding the use of Sure to Grow(R) Products.
