Who should consider using Sure to Grow?

Sure To Grow™ should be considered by any grower who uses a medium to grow their crops or plants. Sure to Grow™ is particularly advantageous for growers of high turnover crops like herbs, baby greens, sprouts, wheat grass and microgreens. Growers of large crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and lettuce will see great advantages with our STG Grow Cubes, Blocks and Slabs. Other applications for which it is well suited are Green Roofs and Living Walls.

Do you have to be a hydroponic grower?

While Sure to Grow™ is particularly suited for hydroponic applications, conventional growers can use it with some modifications to their nutrient management.

Can I use Sure to Grow in all types of hydroponic systems (Drip, Ebb, Flow)?

STG is ideal for use in most hydroponic systems.

Does Sure to Grow have a product for Certified Organic Growers?

In order to satisfy our many growers who grow organic crops, we will introduce an additional line of STG that will be made from Lyocell, an organic, sustainable, cellulous fiber. This fiber is in-soil degradable and may conform to OMRI guidelines for use as an organic medium.
Availability fourth quarter 2008.

What is Sure to Grow made from?

Sure to Grow™ is made of food grade PET fibers with a PE binder. The same food safety material used for soda bottles, clam shells and milk jugs. The biodegradable version, which will be available in 2008, is made from lyocell, a cellulose fiber derived from wood.

Is Sure to Grow recyclable?

Sure to Grow™ can be disposed in landfills or incinerated for heat-recovery. The lyocell version of the product is in-soil degradable and is far superior to other compostable products.

What is Sure to Grow’s shelf life?

Sure to Grow™ has an indefinite shelf life. It does not become brittle or degrade over time.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF SURE TO GROW™ VS OTHER PRODUCTS?
_______________________________________________________________________
What are the main advantages of Sure to Grow vs. Perlite?

Sure to Grow™ is a woven fiber product that eliminates the mess and spills associated with Perlite. It does not produce harmful dust or particles, which can contaminate cut product. Perlite particles in harvested product are a common problem for growers of herbs, baby greens, microgreens and sprouts. Because it is so much more compact and lighter in weight, Sure to Grow™ is significantly cheaper to ship and requires a fraction of the storage space. Post-harvest labor for cleaning and preparation of growing beds for subsequent crops requires a fraction of the time with Sure to Grow™. Unused Perlite requires substantially more storage space than STG.

What are the main advantages of Sure to Grow vs. Oasis?

Sure to Grow™ starter cubes do not break or become brittle over time. They require a fraction of the storage space and cost half as much to ship. They are instantly wettable and require no wetting agents.

What are the main advantages of Sure to Grow vs. Rockwool?

Sure to Grow™ cubes, block and slabs do not contain fibers and dust which are harmful to the lungs. It is pH neutral, unlike Rockwool, which has a high pH and is prone to swings in pH over time requiring greater vigilance and adjustments on the part of the grower. Once Rockwool dries out it is almost impossible to re-wet. STG is not prone to the build-up of salts on the surface that are common with Rockwool. Finally, storage space and shipping weight are a significant advantage of STG over Rockwool.

What are the main advantages of Sure to Grow vs. Coir?

Coir requires messy measuring, presoaking and mixing to be usable, unlike Sure to Grow™ which can be instantly wetted and is ready to seed. Coir products vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and can contain salts, which inhibit plant growth. When Coir dries out it is impossible to re-wet. Finally, storage space and shipping weight are a significant advantage of STG over Coir.

What are the main advantages of Sure to Grow vs. soilless mix?

Sure to Grow™ does not require the labor-intensive filling of plug trays and flats required with soilless mix. It eliminates the possibility of over-wetting and salt build-up on the surface. Soilless mixes degrade over time and most manufacturers recommend that they be used within 6 months. Compared to soilless mix, STG requires a fraction of the storage space.
